Disclaimer: Kosmos Balance is a directory only. Whilst we interview our tutors and verify their credentials. Listings do not constitute an endorsement.  We do not vet, interview, or verify the credentials of any specialists on Kosmosbalance.com. For safety purposes, you must independently verify proof of identity, professional qualifications, and valid background checks (e.g., DBS) of all professionals before any engagement.

2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

2.1 Nature of Service: Kosmos Balance is a passive information directory designed to connect parents with educational and health professionals. We do not provide medical, psychological, or educational services.

2.2 No Vetting: Users acknowledge that Kosmos Balance performs no due diligence on professionals. The responsibility to verify the accuracy of a profile and the safety of a professional lies 100% with the Parent/Guardian.

2.3 Off-Platform Conduct: All messaging occurs via personal email, and all payments are made directly to the professional. Kosmos Balance is not a party to these transactions and bears no liability for financial disputes or conduct occurring off-site.

2.4 Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kosmos Balance shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of the platform or the hiring of professionals found herein.

3. COMMUNITY CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Child-Centricity: All interactions must prioritize the holistic growth and safety of the child.
  • Professional Integrity: Professionals must be honest about their qualifications. Falsification of credentials results in an immediate ban.
  • Safe Environment: Parents must provide a safe, supervised, and professional space for home visits.
  • Respectful Dialogue: Zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination against neurodiverse families or professionals.

4. NOTICE AND TAKEDOWN PROCEDURE

Kosmos Balance acts expeditiously to remove harmful or inaccurate content.

How to Report:

Email reports@kosmosbalance.com with:

  1. The URL of the profile or blog post.
  2. The reason for the report (e.g., “Inaccurate credentials” or “Safety concern”).
  3. Any supporting evidence.
    Upon receipt, the content will be hidden pending a review.

5. UK SAFEGUARDING POLICY STATEMENT

Kosmos Balance acknowledges its moral and statutory responsibilities under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.

  • Referrals: We reserve the right to refer individuals to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) if they are removed from our platform for causing harm or posing a risk to a child.
  • Cooperation: We will assist UK Law Enforcement (including MASH units) in any safeguarding investigations.

6. WRITER’S AGREEMENT (Blogs & Resources)

By submitting content to the Kosmos Balance library, authors agree:

  1. Ownership: You retain ownership but grant Kosmos Balance a perpetual license to host the content.
  2. No Clinical Advice: Content is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute a medical diagnosis or professional advice.
  3. Indemnity: The author is solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information provided.

7. PARENT’S GUIDE: THE DBS CHECK

  • The Certificate: Ask for an Enhanced DBS certificate. Ensure the “Children’s Barred List” check is included.
  • The Update Service: If the certificate is old, use the professional’s surname and certificate number on the GOV.UK website to check for real-time updates.
  • Identity Match: Always cross-reference the DBS certificate with a Passport or Driving License to ensure the person in your home is the person on the paper.
